Tony Wellington joined the NDT department of Minton Treharne and Davies Ltd as a trainee in 1985.

For a number of years he worked as as an NDT technician in the Power Generation, Petro–Chemical, Shipbuilding, Industrial & Aviation Fabrication and Machine Shop industries. With gained experience he achieved qualifications in the then four main methods of UT RT MT and PT in line with CSWIP, British Gas (ERS) and CEGB. He then furthered his experience by working with companies such as British Aerospace, Rolls Royce and Dowty Aerospace, in the Aerospace industry.

He started training NDT personnel in 1993 with the South West School of NDT, initially specialising in running courses in Ultrasonic and Radiographic Testing. He has since gained EN 4179 and Rolls Royce level 3 qualifications in Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Testing and Radiographic Testing undertaking the full range of trainer, examiner and auditor activities.
