Grayson Jones

Grayson began his engineering career as an apprenticeship with Dowty-Rotol in the September of 1989. During his four years apprenticeship he worked on many different machine tools and in several different departments, from Engineering and the drawing office to sales and procurement. At the end of the apprenticeship he decided to focus on NDT and joined the NDT department of Dowty Aerospace Hydraulics in Cheltenham. Progressing through NDT qualification and gaining experience Grayson became the most senior NDT technician on site, and in control of the department.

In 1998 he moved to BI Processes Ltd in Stroud as the NDT Team-leader; it was here he qualified as a level III in Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Flaw Detection, Etch Inspection, and Materials Evaluation. This was a surface treatment and NDT company working for all the major Aerospace primes with a very high work flow. This gave Grayson a solid grounding in the requirements of all the main aerospace primes and NADCAP requirements.
