Geoff Brett joined The South West
School of NDT (SWSNDT) following 30-years of service in the Royal
Air Force working as an Aircraft Engineer on both fixed and rotary
wing aircraft. Whilst conducting limited NDT inspections as part
of on-going service tasks since 1976, it was in 1993 that Geoff
moved to specialise exclusively in NDT attending the RAF’s
full time multi-method training course.
Since gaining his RAF certification, he has spent time conducting
a variety of multi-method inspections, and has managed the RAF’s
NDT Technique Development section. Prior to leaving the RAF, he
was the manager of The RAF School of NDT based in St Athan.
He currently holds (EN473) PCN Level 2 and 3 (Aerospace) certification
in the five main methods of NDT, as well as level 3 status for Material
Evaluation.
In addition to managing the SWSNDT and acting as the Chief Examiner,
Geoff undertakes extensive NDT level 3 consultancy work, and to
facilitate this, he is also certificated at level 3 for Rolls Royce,
Honeywell, and BAe Systems. He is also a member of The British Institute of NDT and a member
of The Institute of Quality Practitioners.
