Mr. D. Lovejoy

David Lovejoy holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a doctorate in Chemical Physics, and has worked in the NDT industry for over 25 years.

During this time he has become established as an authority particularly in the full aspects of Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Testing, and the various forms of Material Evaluation. He has specific interest in the etching of metals including titanium, nickel alloys, aluminium, and superalloys.

In addition to writing two widely recommended textbooks on Magnetic Particle Inspection and Penetrant Testing, he is the author of upwards of 30 papers on these and related subjects. He has regularly supported national and international conferences by giving papers and chairing sessions and has also served on various standards committees both directly and indirectly. He currently is a member of the Employer Certification Group executive committee of the British Institute of NDT and an executive member of the North Atlantic Section of ASNT.
