Alan Rees

Alan trained as a Metallurgist with British Steel at Port Talbot, quickly developing a lifelong interest in both Metallurgy and NDT.

During 1980’s he qualified for Membership of the Institute of Metallurgy, and gained CEGB & CSWIP approvals in a number of NDT techniques.

Alan joined TRW Automotive and during his time there Alan held technical positions in the Laboratory, Metallurgy, Project Engineering & Casting. Alan always maintained an interest in NDT and attended various courses gaining PCN L2 and L3 Qualifications in a number of disciplines.

Alan joined The South West School of NDT in June 2008 to assist in delivering training for the School’s specialist courses covering Mechanical Testing, Heat Treatment and Metallurgy
